Sanitizers & Disinfectants

NYAMOS offers a range of sanitizing and disinfecting products designed to help consumers maintain good hygiene and protect against germs, viruses, bacteria, and other harmful pathogens.

The Difference

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) classifies both sanitizers and disinfectants as antimicrobial pesticides, requiring registrations. The purpose of product registration is to verify effectiveness while mitigating risks to human health and the environment.
Although applying pesticides in everyday spaces might seem daunting, they play a crucial role in safeguarding us from harmful pathogens, especially during critical events like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ethyl alcohol – Also known as ethanol or simply alcohol. It is an ingredient in alcoholic beverages like wine and liquor. It is also an organic compound which is commonly used as a disinfectant and antiseptic to kill viruses and bacteria. Ethanol is more dehydrating; you can feel the tightness and dryness after use.

Isopropyl alcohol – Isopropanol is used in soaps and lotions as an antiseptic, as well as rubbing hand sanitizer to kill germs on our hands. Isopropyl alcohol evaporates more quickly but won’t dry out skin that quickly.
The CDC recommends consumers use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. A touch of aloe & vitamin E might improve the dryness.
Benzalkonium Chloride – Commonly known as BZK, is a quaternary ammonium antiseptic and disinfectant, used as a surfactant and antibacterial agent. It is non-alcohol based and effective for sanitizing surfaces when used as directed.
